Re: READ THIS FIRST - WHAT ENGINES WILL FIT MY CAR?

Yes, there is a VERY good possibility you will get flamed for that question.

The answers are readily searchable- Consider this your "Get out of jail free" card from your friendly mod:

The 3Ls bolt tot he MTX-75. Even the CD4E, no problem.

ADC no longer makes the T3/4 kit. They are supposed to be coming out with a lower-end, non-intercooled version of the T28 kit. The T3/4 kit requires (IMO) a beefed up motor (see my sig) in order to run higher boost safely.

What percentage of people on here looking for the quick fix are going to meticulously detail the build/install/tune?? My comment was to scare off the ricers and bring everyone down to reality. There is no quick power adder, and any power adder requires tuning, and any large power adder (F/I) will blow up your engine just as quick without the attention to detail and PLANNING AHEAD!

If they read my posts and are not scared off, it means they're serious and will heed good advice from War, Demon, and other knowledgeable folks on here for a good, powerful, reliable result. 15k on my turbo (daily driver) and nary a problem.

what parts have to be swapped from the 2.5 to the 3.0 to make it fit? does the intake have to be changed?

Re: READ THIS FIRST - WHAT ENGINES WILL FIT MY CAR?

you mentioned tarus/sabel's 3.0l could fit under the engine bay of the coug. what about the 3.8l size??? Doesn´t look that much of a difference IMO.

The 3.8L is a pushrod motor. You do not see it listed in the forum, it will not fit without being a completely custom fabrication. But by then, you're better off going RWD conversion with a Cobra engine.

I tried search but couldn~t come up with anything. Are there any 3.0l motors already with stock turbos on them, that you can do a swap in the coug???

You didn't come up with anything because NO, there are NOT any.

I don't get it. This list was compiled by reputable members of this board who have put in blood, sweat and tears researching and building and experimenting and learning from their mistakes what will and will not work.

This is it. The Duratec engines LISTED IN THIS THREAD are what will fit without some kind of ridiculous fabrication. Thats all there is to it.
