RE: READ THIS FIRST - WHAT ENGINES WILL FIT MY CAR?

would an engine from the new mercurys fit in the cougar such as the 3litre from the milan. it is a duratec. i want to keep my cougar for a very long time so if it would fit it with not a lot of work it would be feasible

RE: READ THIS FIRST - WHAT ENGINES WILL FIT MY CAR?

Generally speaking, the bottom end of almost any 3L Duratec will work (with minor modification on some), so long as you use the top end of the 2.5 or from specific 3L motors.

Re: READ THIS FIRST - WHAT ENGINES WILL FIT MY CAR?

cougar s was never produced, the S engine you speak of is just the svt engine. Either buy that and talk about it in 2.5 performance or buy a 3.0 duratec and post about it in here

Re: READ THIS FIRST - WHAT ENGINES WILL FIT MY CAR?

Unless you have the time to rewire your car for VVT right now it isn't possible. The work required to get the VVT to work outweighs any benifits. Read the posts in this section it has been asked multiple times. Don't you think someone woud have done it already if it made sense to do that? You could turbo a normal 3L from a Tuaras for cheaper.
