3L Hesitation when accelerating

3L is in and idling smoothly

I took it on its first test drive yesterday

at low RPM's, the car drives fine, no hesitation, no stutter

When trying to increase acceleration, the car hesitates, stutters, and loses power.

It does not stall and returns to normal operation when rpm's come down.




I am running the stock 17# injectors with no tune and assume this is the problem

Any input / suggestions??

17lb injectors are too small, but it shouldn't run that horrible.

Need more details though, is this a ported, hybrid, or full 3L?

Engine from 3L duratec, headers, walbro, magnecor wires, catback, svt uim, everything else stock. Kept the imrc

Ok, it shouldn't run THAT bad, but I'd probably start by getting some larger injectors in there. Are you planning on getting it tuned?

I do plan on having it tuned howeverI would like to make sure everything functions correctly before tuning

When driving, under moderate acceleration, while stuttering, I saw a puff of white smoke come from the exhaust.

Not sure if that helps. Any other suggestions??

Sounds like maybe the plugs or wires. Misfiring?

Definatly check the ignition wires,the boots at the spark plugs get deteriorated and arching occurs in the spark plug holes. This usually happens when your accelerating.

What plugs and wires do you have?

I have brand new magnecor wires. Ill switch them back and see if that changes anything
