    2000 3.0 - Running Build/Repair Log

Ended up buying this from Frizzle86, i left Saturday morning at 3am and got home Sunday morning at 5am
There is a lot of small items that need to be addressed but for the most part i believe this will turn into a very nice car.

I had a 99atx about 4 years ago and loved it, other then it being an atx.
Took this one around the block and it felt like it was twice as quick lol.

I have a long list of plans so i probably wont bore you with it....

    Have a couple questions though,
What can i do with this breather hose on top of the valve cover ? seems to be a little bit of blow by (im assuming) coming out of it.. Can i just route it down somewhere out of site ?
That lose connector is also stumping me....is that something IMRC related ?

And what is this fella here ? something for a 2.5 i assume since the cable coming out of it isnt connected to anything...

I installed the smoked/tinted markers after this pic...

    Re: UCC's 2000 3L

THat intake tube is a little bit ghetto-rigged. The valve cover breathers are supposed to route back into that.

The box behind the strut tower is the cruise control.

    Re: UCC's 2000 3L

Valve cover breathers go back into the hole where the welded pipe is ?

Does the CC hook up easily to the 3L ?
I would go look but the car is parked at our shop right now and ive been there twice today lol.

    Thanks for the help !!

Valve cover breathers (BOTH of them, front and rear) go into the pipe between the MAF sensor and the throttle body. There's no pipe there, only a silicone coupler, which is why I said it was ghetto-rigged.

    Re: UCC's 2000 3L

Gotcha now, didn't think it made sense to route them in after the TB.
Just 1 more thing to fix i guess.
Any idea on that wiring connector ? is that the 2.5 IMRC plug ?

    Re: UCC's 2000 3L

It's hard to tell as I'm not familiar with the 3L top end, but it looks to be there is a connector on the throttle body for the cruise control to latch onto. I only see the throttle cable connected to the throttle body, obviously. Just look at the bracket and see if there's another hole for the cruise control to hook up into.

Where does the valve cover breather hose go? I'd get that routed back into the intake before too long as B3nn3tt stated.

Congrats on the car. You coming to fest?

    Re: UCC's 2000 3L

The Rear breather on the rear valve cover routes directly into the UIM on the later taures/ sable motors and the front one routes into the intake after the MAF. Last time I checked we didn't have an easy fix for the cruise control with the 3L TB, but its been a few months since i've been around on here

    Re: UCC's 2000 3L

Yeah i just got home from work, gonna go check it out some more now.

That front breather hose stops right where you see it, it just looks like it goes under there.

Do the 2.5 Valve covers work on 3L heads, or am i looking at 2.5 heads ? those are suppose to be SVT cams as well...

I gotta see how things go but i would love to attend Fest this year.
