I talk to a tech from the deal and they said they can, but like the guys from where I'm at the said what they don't know won't hurt????
Even the tech said he would help me if I needed the help
They shouldn't be able to tell at a quick glance. The only give away are the MIL eliminators that you would need to stop the engine light from coming on.
My mom talked to some guys that were saying they would void the warranty for even an exhaust...so I dunno if i should gut the precats anymore.

Obviously it will void your emissions part of the warranty since you are removing two cats, but it should not affect the rest of it.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
I'd probably hold off if I were you. I know I fought with CELs for awhile afterwards, and if I brought it in to the dealer for them to fix, I'd have been discovered (engine codes would point to the O2 sensors). I waited until my warranty had expired before I did mine.

Nah, you have a 2002- you don't even need MIL eliminators. As long as you do a clean job, you're fine.

Does that mean i should weld over the hole? I don't have a welder handy, but i might be able to get someone to do it for me.

I have a 02 and I went ahead and did it. From what I have heard is that you will void your emmisions warranty (becasue you just cut have it out), but the rest of your cars warranty will be intack. It the burden of the dealer to prove that you modification damaged the warrantied part. They are going to have real tough time proving your alternator, for example, failed because you gutted you precats. Even with engine troubles, it would be really hard for them to claim the precats were the source of the problem. Here is a link to some info.
You would nullify your exhaust warranty.. and they would only be able to tell
if you brought it in for an emissions related claim..
Now remember it is a federal offense to alter your emissions control devices...
I've never heard of someone getting busted for it though...
