hi
Its still in debate whether intakes add any horsepower at all. Some ppl say they notice a difference others say none. They do however suffer from heatsoak (performace suffering as engine bays heats up). Intake alone really only adds a more aggressive and louder sound. An exhaust combined with intake DOES add horsepower. KKM intake is no different than any other intake, they all do basically the same thing.
They are all right.. meaning that in cool weather they offer a minimum amount of restriction to air flow; during warm days they do allow the intake to draw in some outside air if you have the Contour SVT filter; but like all cone filters, when hard accelerating they want to draw most of the air through the filters outside wall and not the fender scoop input. What's wrong with this picture?? On hot days that air is coming from the hot engine bay and very little from the cooler scoop..
There, that's my opinion, my KKM has been on for about two years.. I'm in the process of building a cold air box and insulated air induction pipe for the car.. It has proved to be a challenge but if it works ..![]()
