Well, I took my car in for inspection today... ummm... it was ugly.

    NOx:
    Standard: 625
    Reading: 2182
    Result: FAIL

    HC:
    Standard: 78
    Reading: 99
    Result: FAIL

    CO%:
    Standard: 0.44
    Reading: 0.98
    Result: FAIL

    Luckily, it passed for:

    Tampering: PASS (hahahaha!)
Visible Smoke: PASS (they didn't floor it )

Looks I'll be needing to bolt a cat on...

Why did you even try to get inspected with no cats? They should have arrested you for assaulting their NOx meter.

Frank, frank, frank *shakes head* Didn't I tell you to just pay the 50 bucks and bring the car to a private inspection place? :-P

Though I have to say that your numbers are most impressive

Yeah, my car always puts out big numbers on the dyno, no matter what it's being tested for

Ah well... time for a 2.5" high-flow cat. I figure that for only a little more money than it would cost to pay off a private inspector, I can fix the problem... The car might actually run better than it does with the 2.0" straight-piped cat!

What about the holes left were the rod goes through the side of the intake tract..... the inner holes will allow BAD turbulance and the outer holes will allow a SICK vaccume leak.... i can only assume you pluged them somehow...
    Missing the old days...

I was here (or on ezboard rather) when all you could do to a Cougar was a KKM intake and a Borla.

The outer holes were plugged, of course. The inner holes don't look like much of an issue to me
