Re: SVT Upgrades- By request

You would have to get a SVT ECU from a 2000 Contour only this that was the only year for them as return-less. It would be better for you to put the cams in and get the more dyno tuned with all your mods and the SVT Cams.

But... Dyno tuned? I need a custom chip for it? I can´t put the cams, inyectors, ECU and go? Is necessary dyno tuned it?

Re: SVT Upgrades- By request

If you are going to use the SVT ECU you will need to put in the #19 injectors and all. Its not necessary to get the dyno tune but it would be BETTER than the SVT ECU.

Re: SVT Upgrades- By request

I've actually run into a guy who has a 98 Contour SVT engine literally complete sitting in his garage. He's parting it out to me really reasonable. I picked up the TB + UIM for $200. My question is am I really missing out on that much not having a 99+ UIM? It's pretty lucky I could find what I wanted sitting just 5 minutes down the road. The only problem was a cylinder sleeve is scraped up from a literally totally shattered piston. It's like an Esuvee ate the piston and just left the connecting rod like it was a drumstick.

Re: SVT Upgrades- By request

SVT UIMs are the same, it's the SVT heads that changed - form one port to both ports being honed. Thought I read that on FCO, but don't have a link at the moment.

Re: SVT Upgrades- By request

I've picked up the cams from him. The engine only had 27,000 miles on it. I got all of them for $100. I don't know if this is cheap or not, but they are perfectly fine. Realistically I'll never use them, but it's nice to have.
