RE:SVT Upgrades- By request

No point- Use the stock ATX ECU with an ADC chip that has the program for the A/F and timing profiles for the SVT cams. That chip would actually be hotter and provide more power than a stock SVT ECU, but for more $$$ ($60.00 used ECU over >$300 ADC chip).

Horsepower costs money- How fast you wanna go?

Correct. Stock ECU + ADC chip beats SVT ECU any day of the week.

RE: SVT Upgrades- By request

when using the svt throttle body im assuming we have to use the svt accordian piece because of the fourth air tube. or a sri made for the svt.

correct or no?

I'm not sure about the stock intake accordian piece, but you will be able to fit an short ram intake hose around the TB. I was able to fit my AEM short ram onto it, its a tight fit, but it still works.

RE:SVT Upgrades- By request

Hey..I've got a few questions about these upgrades. I own a 2000 Mercury cougar Special edition. I really don't know the diffrence between Atx and Mtx.. I was also wondering where can I find these parts for those prices or simular ones.

"I really don't know the diffrence between Atx and Mtx"

ATX=Automatic Transmission

MTX=Manual Transmission

PS: diffrence is not a word but difference is! LOL Had to do it

RE:SVT Upgrades- By request

Hey whats up guys need some advice. I couldn't find this when I searched for it specifically. In a couple of days I will be getting SVT UIM, SVT Throttlebody, bracket, and cable, SVT 19lb injectors, and a Pro Flow 75MM MAF thats calibrated for the 19lb injectors. I have a 2000 MTX Cougar and I know you said you need a custom burned chip to handle the SVT injectors. I was thinking of getting a S-AFC ll and getting it dyno tuned were I did my baseline runs before. But I am wondering would I be better off getting the ADC chip for my upgrades? All I have right now is cat-back exhaust and cold air intake. Or should I get the ADC chip and later on get the S-AFC ll, or is that just a waste of money having both? Also I don't plan on going much further with SVT upgrades because I might as well get the whole engine, maybe SVT heads and cams thats it. I do plan on getting a Vortech Supercharger kit within 6 months, if that helps at all to get the answer for my questions. One last question besides getting the UIM gasket, throttlebody gasket and o rings for the injectors what else do I need to install all these parts? Thanks guys.
