Re: SVT Upgrades- By request

i am doing the svt lite upgrade and i have an MTX. i'm getting a ATX Throttle body Bracket and an ATX throttle cable. is there any spicific insturctions or a how-to for cutting the hole in the bracket for the cable?

i know thats what a lot of people have done because svt TB Brackets are hard to find.
thanks

Re: SVT Upgrades- By request

Here's how I would go about it.

Put the bracket in place. Bolt it loosely.

Note where the throttle cable comes through it in the stock configuration.

Eyeball where the throttle cable SHOULD come through to meet the SVT throttle body, and mark it with a sharpie.

Drill a hole through the center of where the cable will go.

Trace the stock square hole on a piece of paper or cardboard. Cut it out and use that as a stencil to draw the same shape around the hole you just drilled, so you will have a template to mark where you will need to cut.

Use a Dremel to cut out the square in the new position. Continually test-fit the cable flange until it slides into place correctly.

Use the stock nylon locking sleeve to secure it in place.

Re: SVT Upgrades- By request

The flange on the end of the cable where it mounts to the bracket is square. It has to be the same size and shape as the mounting point of the cable.

You could possibly do it with a drill and a file, or maybe a hacksaw, but it won't be pretty.

Um they really arent hard to find. I just got an svt bracket and cable for an mtx from Bill Jenkins for about 60 bucks for both of them this last year.
