1) It will be VERY loud with your Flowmaster & drone alot on the highway.
2) At least 2 persons at CEG have shown power loss from gutting main cat as it slows velocity. Better to remove cat & place a straigh pipe (or 4" resonator - to help with noise) if visual emmision checks are of no concern.

He's talking about gutting the pre-cats, not gutting out the catalytic convertor itself.
NorCal, I think he said he's gutting "the precats and the catylitic converter".

I was here (or on ezboard rather) when all you could do to a Cougar was a KKM intake and a Borla.
Exigent- I have read the directions... but I searched on the How-To's and couldn't find anything. Is your How-To detailed directions?
