ok, so i kow ive been bugging u all for the past year about my muffler dilema but ive finaly decided on one: the cherry bomb turbo. so heres wht i need to kno;
First, here are my specs: 1999 Mercury cougar, 5spd Manual transmission, 2.5l DURATECH, everything stock (hopefully not for long )So, heres what im getting: CHEERYBOMB Turbo link Cherry Bomb Exhaust :: High Performance Exhaust Systems, Cat-Back Systems, Mufflers and Glasspacks :: Disturbing the Peace Since 1968 i got to the site and WOW all kinds of sizes. but what i want to know is what size, or model of the turbo muffler, do i need to get for the most easy direct bolt on installation. i beleive the inlet for the 99 coug is 2.5", so what do i need to get so everything will fit into the stock positions or for the most minimal custom fabrications. i finaly saved up some cash, and please no "oh save more and get this" or "no no buy that". as i do appreciate them, but my desicion is final here. anyways please help here because i wish to get this puppy on by friday. so basicaly: What do i need, besides the muffler and installation what model. Thats all. i trust the new edge cougar community will help me wit this 1 ![]() thecoug![]() |

Re: Cherry bomb turbo help ASAP
well are you going to turbo your car?? if you are go with a three inch exhaust with my turbo kit. did a lot of research and found that is the best size for our cars. if you are turbo your car you are dif. going to need a quaife lsd or torsen t2 LSD
if you look at trubendz.com they have the size muffler that we need for are cars. You can use the size off the web page to cross ref. to the ones your looking at. |

Re: Cherry bomb turbo help ASAP
Okay... heh, a little strong, sorry...
![]() But why out of all the setups that come highly recommended on this forum (magnaflow, flowmaster, borla, etc...) did you settle on the Cherry Bomb? |

Re: Cherry bomb turbo help ASAP
You do realize that the Cherry Bomb mufflers are only slightly cheaper than a nice Magnaflow muffler right? The Cherry Bomb mufflers on jegs are about $55 where the Magnaflows are about $69. It's not like your saving "mad cash". Honestly I've always thought of Cherry Bombs as glass packs or annoying truck mufflers but it does look like they sell normal car mufflers. I'd search google for some opinions on the sound before buying one though.

Re: Cherry bomb turbo help ASAP
I bought mine from CTAMotorsports in Toronto, its a center/center:
![]() pretty sure at least... its been about 5 years...heh! A serious thing to consider though... the cherry bomb is aluminized. Do you drive in any winter conditions where you live? If yes, you will honestly want Stainless Steel as it lasts twice as long. I know being young and or in school is tough, but if a product is cheap, its probably made cheap. Driving in winter conditions with the snow, salt and all that junk will mean you will most likely have to spend that money again to replace it sooner rather than later .
