Just seeing if anyone on here ever seafoam a engine. Its suppose to clean all the buildup in your engine and so far i read all good things about it. Just wondering if anyone used it and could say any pros and cons on it. Interested in trying it for my self.

Re: Any1 Seafoam a engine?
I do it about once a year, usually around the time of an oil change or when I check my spark plugs. Sometimes it gunks up the plugs if it's a real dirty engine.
No real cons except all the smoke from the exhaust after you pour it through. But that goes away. Pros are a more responsive engine and better mpg.

Re: Any1 Seafoam a engine?
just an UPDATE. I finished the seafoam. Wanted to do a video and pics but my camera died. I was skeptical at first and didnt think it would work. I let 1/3 suck through the vacumn hose, 1/3 in crank case and 1/3 in my gas. Let it sit for about 30 min and then started it up. Not as much smoke as i thought but wow, felt like a brand new engine. I would def reccomend using seafoam.

Re: Any1 Seafoam a engine?
1/3 sounds kinda low. I used 1/2 a can for each vacuum line and let it sit for 5-10min before starting.
There are some how-to's if you search.

Re: Any1 Seafoam a engine?
It helps, but if it's been a while really the only way is to take the upper manifold off and scrub. There's no way seafoam or any carb cleaner could possibly have gotten rid of all the gunk I had built up.
I put the whole can through the top vacuum lines as stated, as well as the egr line. Let it sit, start it up. It definitely felt better afterwords.... for a little while.

Re: Any1 Seafoam a engine?
Some ppl use screw drivers to hold the circle piece that surrounds the vacuum line against the UIM down as you pull up on the line, but for me I find it much easier to just use my fingernails to hold the circle down evenly on both sides while pulling up on the vacuum line. If you hold it down properly the line pulls out very easily.. If your pulling hard and nothing is happening its because your putting too much pressure on one side instead of even pressure all around it.
