Re: imrc relocation

I don't recall seeing a post about it before.... but I "mounted" mine to the air filter housing bracket that's attached to the top of the tranny mount. "Mounted" because it's just been zip tied for about 2 years. I have a 3/8" sheet of aluminum that I cut to size to use as an adapter bracket, but I've just never thought about it long enough to finish.

Re: imrc relocation

Just mount it somewhere cooler in the engine bay, aka, not on top of the engine block. Hence, somewhere with more airflow.

Also, make sure not to ground out the imrc box. I threaded one of the holes in the imrc and used a bolt to attach it to the old airbox bracket for a "clean" look. In doing such, I grounded out the imrc box, which caused the secondaries to always be open, and in short, fried the motor. I had to buy a new one, and just put it back in the stock mount.

It also allowed me to find out if I ever wanted to "manually" open the secondaries. All I have to do is run a swtich to short the box to ground. I really have no need though.

Re: imrc relocation

That's weird... it should be grounded the same as if it's mounted on the valve covers.

Nope. At least not on my car. Those mounts coming up from the valve covers are isolated from ground. Strangely enough. Go check it.
