svt uim and tb W/nautilus cai= weird howling noise?
Hi im new here. I dont own a coug but a ae86 and a 05 corolla xrs... But my bro owns a 01 cougar atx. Well he wanted some mods so he micht be able to keep up wit my car haha. Neways I pu a svt uim and tb along with a nautilus cai but now thats done it makes a weird howling noise ater he revs. its not a normal cai noise well not anything like I've heard before and I have a pretty decent tuning backround. Does anyone know if this is a normal sound for a cougar with these mods? If I can I'll post up some pics and vids. Oh yeah I blacked out his headlights too haha.

you'll find plenty of info in this section, and yes a cai makes a "howling/ sucking" noise, and that is completely normal

sounds like it could be the "moose" ....
time to clean or replace the iac, or use the throttle hang fix copper cap method ...

the moose is loose! he makes an appearance when you ditch the articulated (i.e. ribbed) intake.
