Re: factory service manual

You can pick up a Chiltons or Hanes manual up from any local autoparts store. They won't cover everything but they are helpful. The Ford CD's are year specific so the 99 CD you have will only cover 99 Ford Cars. Normally they have quite a bit of info but it's hard to find things on it.

Personally I can't stand Chiltons or Haynes unless I'm trying to prop a table with a short leg. The information is very generic because it encompasses all years. It also assumes you have no real skills and any past changing spark plugs should be referred to a mechanic.

CDs are also fairly worthless since you either have to print out everything or bring your laptop into the garage.

Get a REAL service manual. They're under $30 on eBay almost EVERY day.

Here's an example that took me 2 minutes to find....

eBay Motors: 2001 FORD COUGAR FACTORY SERVICE AND WIRING MANUALS (item 180230456776 end time Apr-13-08 19:15:00 PDT)
