sri help!

OK so last week i purchased a sri off ebay finally got it and after a little bit of custom work got in . My only problem is that the car seems to be running rich? it smells alot like gas the is lot of smoke coming ou of the exhaust and the exhaust is also leaking a substance beleived to be oil or gas, im not sure. At firts the car wouldnt start then all of the sudden it did. I dont want to further mess the car up. can anyone offer me some help. It would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Unless the filter is made out of dirt, an intake should if anything make the car run lean(er). If you take the filter off how does it run? Don't know much about the 2.5, but is the MAF sensor installed correctly? Possibly telling the car to add too much more fuel to compensate for more air. IDK

ok so here are the pictures
maybe some of the tubes are installed wrong
is the iat or maf installed wrong
im just trying to figure out i just went out to try
to start the car and it took about 7 seocnds before it actually started up.
please help if you can

Well... I can see a COPIOUS vacuum leak, post-MAF. All of those hoses need to be plugged. Third photo shows a clearly unplugged nipple on the side.

in the intake tube the middle hose is plugged up by a rubber peice its sealed shut. the other two hoses seem fine where exactly do u se a leak? and would that have anyhing to do with all the smoke and water/oil leaking from the exhuast there are puddles?

and the rubber think holing the red tube to the maf those holes are plugged do u think if i put something to plug them up more that would mae an extrmem difference. And i id read up the only how to i could find was the one about the name brand sri not an ebay style it was obviously different after reading it.

Do you have hoses held on by zip ties? Get some small hose clamps.
