Re: sri help!

Bottom line.

There are 3 vacuum lines attached to the intake tube. One from each crankcase vent, and one from the Idle Air Control Valve.

There is one electrical plug for the MAF sensor.

There is one Intake Air Temp Sensor.

Anything else SHOULD NOT BE THERE. The entire thing needs to be SEALED, SEALED, SEALED, and SEALED AGAIN. Any air leak, no matter how small, will cause problems.

You have more openings and nipples and fittings and ghetto crap all over that thing than any FOUR normal cars.

CLOSE THAT S*** UP and put it together for real - not ghetto-rigged. Get some real silicone couplers, and real hose clamps - not some rubber thing with fittings all over it. That's asking for trouble.

Re: sri help!

well as for right now its working and that rubber ghetto peice would happen to be a cut off peice of the tubing form the origionl air assembly. this was used due to the fact that ebay can supply the right parts. so yeah im gonna have to pick up some cupplers do they sell them at like autozone and advanced autoparts?

Duh. And thats why you prob paid $15 for it. You can't expect something great when you cheap out. And yeah you can pretty much find those anywhere.

Re: sri help!

Get the right coupler to go from your MAF to that pipe. You will probably have to measure each end (the MAF) and the pipe and then pick up a reducer online. It's probably going to be a 3" to a 2.5" reducer that you need. The two open holes in your current one are a huge problem. You cannot have any air coming in after your MAF. Your car will run lean because unmetered air is getting into the system.

Also make sure the connections to the valve cover breather hoses are tight. Shoving a plastic tube into a metal hose port is not air tight.

Re: sri help!

True; that strangely bent hose that goes to the Idle Air Control valve is obviously too short now. This happens often when installing an aftermarket intake. You will need to buy a 12 to 16 inch slice of heater hose, and replace that tube entirely.

Re: sri help!

who did you buy it from on ebay?? Cause i bought one from ebay to make a cold air intake. (But i decided to buy one form nautilus performance.) The extension piece is completely different then the one i got you think they might have mixed it up with a different vehicle? Mine only had a total of three nipples.
