Cougar 101

Pull the battery, let it sit for ~15 minutes, reconnect. Drive it. CEL come back?

Re: car dying problem

yeah thats pretty much what i did earlier. i took the chip out, let the car sit for about 20 minutes with battery disconnected. got in the car after that drove it around for about 10-15 minutes and no light. come back out about an hour later get in the car and go to the store cel pops up right when i get in. it also made this funny like high pitch flat line sound. not like ear piercing because u had to really listen to hear it but i could hear it.

And yeah i already knew what the codes were. i looked them up on here just to make sure the autozone ticket was correct. Thanks

Ok I take it back. after driving to work this morning the hesitation/jerk is still there. by the way its not like the hesitation u get when the imrc is going bad its like a slight missfire feel. doesnt do it real hard but u can tell its doing it.

Re: car dying problem

after doing some more research today i'm starting to think its the IACV. Does this sound like I might be correct on this?

Re: car dying problem

Yeah, that's "moosing". IACV.

As for the jerking, if you've already done plugs, wires, and a can of BG44k to make sure you don't have clogged / pissing injectors, you either have a sticking injector or the coil pack is bad (rare).

Re: car dying problem

No- BG44k is a fuel additive that cleans EVERYTHING in your fuel system / valves / combustion chamber. Something like $25 a can, but it's the only stuff I use.
