I just got the one that NAPA offers. The brand started with a "W" I think, but I'm not sure. It was about $12, and the guy working there said they make the top of the line fuel filters. Right after replacing it, my gas millage went up 3 MPG.

Does it matter if my gas tank is Full when i change the filter?
I read somewhere in here that it should be done when your tank is almost empty.

Any brand that you can get at your local auto parts store is pretty good. I used a generic brand called "Luber-Finer" Part number "FF679" I think. It was super cheap....and I changed my filter when my tank was 3/4 full. No problems. Quick and easy.

Make sure there is a bucket under where you are working because you will lose some gas. Personally, I use purolater.

Does not matter how full tank is. You will always lose a lil gas not that much to worry about but it wont pour out cause the pump wont be on.

Re: What Fuel Filter brand is best?

You'll want to wait for about 20-30 minutes after shutting the car down before you remove the old filter. Fuel is normally pressurized around 45psi and will shoot out in every direction (including into your eye) if you don't let the system bleed pressure first.

Store brand fuel filters are fine, I use Purolator as well because that's what Advance sells. Brand doesn't make a huge difference since you're supposed to change the filter every year (along with your air and cabin air filters).

oh alright i will just change it when the car is cold in the morning, Would it help if i leave the gas cap off while changing filters? so the pressure decreases i guess?

Thanks everyone for your help :D i think im almost ready to do it, i just need to get under there ^^.
