Re: Throttle Response??

I cant believe no ones said it...

get a lightweight crank pulley.

zxtuner.com Its like, 60 bucks plus a belt. Thatll help out alot.

Lightweight flywheel and bolt ons help alot too. (header, exhaust, intake, throttle body and intake manifold)

Re: Throttle Response??

The optimizing is basically something you do yourself. Just takes a little time, and thats something I don't have much of, so I havent done it. Whered you get the TB for 96 James? Also, do throttle body spacers do anything? Prob not since nobody here seems to have done it. I'd imagine they would cause clearance problems with the hood tho

Nice, I'll have to keep my eye out for one. I just can't see spending 300 for something to give better throttle response. Can get headers for less than that.

Re: Throttle Response??

I highly doubt the cougar was almost underivable after a couple small mods

You have obviously never put a 65mm F/C T/B onto a zetec intake. It just makes it so hard to find the biting point. Obviously once you get used to the difference it is very drivable indeed. Oh and btw, the f/c t/b gets you this increased performance by itself, no other mods needed.

So what your trying to say is that what cbman said is incorrect?:
Quote:
Upgrading to the FC 65mm TB and porting the intake manifold to match it will definitely improve throttle response.
And that you don't need to port your intake manifold.

Also whats the difference between the 00-02 FC 65mm TB and the 03-04 FC TB. Which involves less modification/other needed parts?
