zetec vct problems

i have a quick question i hope someone can help me with...................i was driving my car home from work one night when i stomped on the gas the car sped up for a couple seconds and then just died out..........................went and tried to start it again and it sounds like an RC car and i get no compression..................i took the valve cover off and there was some metal shavings around the variable engine timeing selenoid So my best guess is its the vct part anybody else agree with me?? Also how would i go about doin the vct delete?? Also if i do how much HP will i loose from doin that?? Please help me I miss Driving my baby

Thanks in advance

Re: zetec vct problems

hmmm not sure VCT really wouldnt effect your performance much, its just a fancy version of an EGR.

As for the VCT delete with the proper cam gear settings you will GAIN hp not lose.

www.zxtuner.com for the VCT delete

Re: zetec vct problems

well the VCT stands for Variable Cam Timing, so im guessing that if thats bad, then your car wont be able to time your cam timing....so yea, your car wont turn over. Get it checked by a shop man.
