transmission cooler install

Thought I would take a few pictures and make a little write-up as I installed my B&M transmission supercooler this weekend. This does not cover every single step but should give those looking to do this a good idea of what is in store. The whole process is extremely easy and the B&M kit comes with everything you should need.

here is a link to summit racing's B&M kit:
B&M 70255 - B&M SuperCooler Oil Coolers - summitracing.com

I ordered mine on a wednesday night and it was at my door by early friday! I was very impressed with Summit... and I got a free 40th aniv. hat

Here's whats included: (you shouldn't need anything else)

1. Disconnect hard line at bottom of radiator (passenger side).
Have a pale or something to catch a little fluid that will come out when you disconnect. (you can see the new adapter in center of picture)

2. Attach the provided adapters to the back of the radiator and to the transmission fluid line.
(What adapters to use and where will be fairly self evident.)

3. Decide where you will be mounting your cooler and go ahead and test fit.
After you are satisfied with the positioning proceed by either using the zip-tie like fasteners or bolts that are provided (included with B&M kit, not sure about others )

4. Attach the rubber hosing to the adapters you put on earlier, not forgetting to put the provided clamps on , and run lines to/from your mounted transmission cooler!

5. Check over everything and make sure you hooked it all up correctly and tighten down all clamps so you don’t find yourself with any leaks.

6. You should add some transmission fluid to account for the extra lines and capacity of the cooler. This is a great time to do a transmission flush as I did.

An extra pic of the project car barn

Hope this helps someone and if you see anything you would like added/corrected, let me know!
