Actually if you are very short it would be better to move it forward. My fiance is 5'1", and when she drove the MTX cougar her problem was that the seat has to be very far forward to get the clutch pedal in, which actually made it difficult when shifting into 2nd, 4th, and Reverse. Her arm would end up hit the bolsters on the seat, its even worse in the GTO. Also being that close to the steering wheel is a safety issues as well for people her size. I'm seriously considering developing a good looking easily removed clutch extension pedal for her. Because its always the clutch pedal that has a much longer throw, and is the only reason she has to be so close. If the car is an auto she can normally have the seat at a reasonable distance from the steering wheel.
