Yes you are correct. It was not an official "Recall", but a "Warranty Extension". And actually, according to the notification I received, and Ford's documents on the NHTSA website, it is a 10 year/
no mileage restriction Warranty extension.
Not to cover/make excuses for the garage where BBOX's friend had the work done, but if all they did was look up official "Recalls", the Warranty Extension for the fuel pump may not have come up on the database they use. Of course, if they had access to and looked up TSB's and other technical data, it should have come up.
