for the sake of being nice, i'll tell ya what i did...
when they were really bad, i started with 1000 grit and sprayed soapy water on them and sanded them in entirety till they were all scratched and any oxidation or defects were gone.. then i went to 1500 grit an did it again until the 1000 grit scratches were out. after that, it was a sort of back and forth between 1500 grit and Meguir's Plastx (i believe its Meguir's) on an orbital buffer and a soft cloth pad. I'd sand it, dry it off, then buff the scratches out. after wiping the excess Plastx off with a terry cloth, i'd examine the surface for any missed defects... if i missed anything, i'd do the 1500 again and repeat the procedures... i probably resanded each light 10 times, but they look brand new. I'll post some pics asap!
