Actually if you want to be cocky about it, the company really is Nitrous Oxide Systems. True it is made by Holley, but NOS is just one of their subidiaries... Just like hooker headers, and MSD...
Anyways this is why I left the forums, can you kids stop arguing and answer the guys questions. People are asking for advice and all you guys are worried about is some stupid movie from like 10 years ago!

Wideband will do you absolutely no good as a warning indicator. If your fuel pressure drops suddenly or an injector sticks, etc etc - Boom too late! Well, not literally Boom, but you're motor's pistons will be welded to the block, rods will be broken along with cyl walls, your valve's will be burnt up... not a pretty picture!
Have no worries though - NOS, Venom, NX, etc - all the major companies have thought of a way around this. It's called a "fuel pressure safety switch" that is included in the kit! Wow - it seems that all the people talking have no clue about nitrous or have never used it or they would know about this! If your fuel pressure suddenly drops, it instantly shuts off the selenoid and no more Nitrous is supplied! A sticky injector on the other hand could be very problematic if it were to completely get stuck closed. This is why people use EGT gauges like I stated in my first post - if a specific cyl starts to go lean this gauge will rise immediately and you have a chance to back off of the gas, which turns off the nitrous. That is another safety of nitrous is that you must be at WOT in order for it to turn on.
Ok as far as a bottle warmer goes - no it is completely not necessary while the bottle is sitting cold. The reason you saw that picture (I saw it too) was because the guy modified his bottle warmer to get even hotter, as well as modifying his bottle! You see, the bottle itself has an emergancy blow off valve that if the pressure gets to be too great (over 3500psi) it will open up that valve and release all of the pressure, most tracks require that you have a down pipe venting this out of the car. A bottle warmer is nothing more than a regulated heating pad that keeps the bottle at a constant pressure. If your pressure is low, you will get less HP out of it so the bottle heater kicks in and warms it up a bit to increase the pressure so that you have consistant 1/4 runs every time. You'll get about 10 runs out of a 10lb bottle with a 50 shot...
So no matter what, N20 is very safe and includes the essential safety features with the kit! The blown motors you see are because the jackass didn't know what he was doing when he set it up. I used to work at a performance shop and we'd see customers all the time that had no clue how to install the systems and wouldn't follow the directions. Make sure you follow everything to a T and you'll be fine!
Another warning for everyone here - N20 (Nitrous) contains small amounts of Sulfer Dioxide. This is not medical grade Nitrous we're talking about.
It might not sound harmful, but as the Sulfer Dioxide starts to mix with your soft tissue membranes - like your lungs, throat, mouth, nose, etc it will begin to turn into Sulferic Acid
Then slowly it will start to burn away all the tissue in your body from the inside out
Moral of the story don't inhale N20 to get high or you'll probably end up dead!
